External breast prostheses
Transitional
A soft, lightweight foam prosthesis, worn immediately after mastectomy and while the scar heals.
Silicone prostheses
Once healed and with the surgeon’s agreement, you need to wear an external silicone prosthesis whose shape, weight and texture are as close as possible to the natural breast.
It restores a silhouette, and balance.
There are 2 models of silicone prosthesis:
- Standard model: non-adhesive prosthesis
- Technical model: non-adhesive or adhesive prosthesis
“Swimming” prosthesis, practical for frequent use. Not reimbursed by Social Security.
Mastectomy lingerie
After the operation, a post-surgery bra with an integrated pocket is essential.
